It's Not Business As Usual...
It goes without saying that we are in uncharted territory these days. Absent any clear path forward, we have decided to adhere to the advice of the medical community and temporarily close our store. This is not an easy decision, as we see daily how important it is for all of us to get out and connect with others. We are grateful that so many of you seek that community space in our local bookstore.
We'll still be here on-line, via phone, and through email. If you'd like us to delive a book, or you want to meet us curbside, we can accomodate you. We are happy to offer free delivery to Lamorinda and Rossmoor residents until things get back to normal. If you'd like us to ship a book, we are pleased to do that as well.
We'll be available 10:00 – 3:00, Monday through Saturday at our store. You can reach Orinda Books via email at email@example.com or phone at 925-254-7606. In the meantime, you can see what we're up to by following our Instagram @orindabooks.
Until we open our doors again, we wish you health and peace of mind.
– Pat & the staff at Orinda Books
Welcome to Orinda Books
We are an independently-owned bookstore based in the beautiful town of Orinda, just 30 minutes (give or take a rush hour or two) from San Francisco. Visiting is easy! We are open seven days a week and have ample free parking right outside our doors.
We strive to provide a diverse and eclectic range of books and have a large inventory covering travel, fiction, history and biography, current affairs, art and poetry, nature lit and science. Our children's department is wonderful and inviting and a great place to flop down and read.
We love to keep it local too! Check out our locally-made chocolate, olive oil, ceramics and artwork. We support local authors and artists and can provide a great space for local groups to meet.
Last but not least, we love to read and love to recommend our favorites - so don't hesitate to ask!
Come and see us soon.
