The Postmistress of Paris
Join us for a conversation with Meg Waite Clayton, best-selling author of The Last Train to Paris, Beautiful Exiles, and others as she discusses her latest novel, The Postmistress of Paris.
The Postmistress of Paris is inspired by the real life Chicago heiress Mary Jayne Gold, who worked with American journalist Varian Fry to smuggle artists and intellectuals out of France during the early days of the WWII German occupation. Named a Publisher’s Weekly notable book for Fall/Winter 2021, The Postmistress of Paris is the haunting novel of an indomitable woman whose strength, bravery, and love is a beacon of hope in a time of terror.
Purchase of the book is included in the ticket. Register Here or call the store at 925-254-7606. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Lafayette Library and Learning Center Foundation
This will be an in-person event held in the Don Tatzin Community Hall at the Lafayette Library. Attendance is limited; Masks and proof of vaccination will be required.
